Produced by Danbork, … Read more These tubular chairs are a superb creation by Danish designers Steen Eiler Rasmussen and Kai Lyngfeldt Larsen. Produced by Danbork, these 1950s chairs boast a design that is simultaneously clean, light, and imbued with a certain gentleness. The frame is made of patinated dark gray tubular metal, offering architectural lines. This refined design of the frame highlights the warm hue of the teak plywood and the unusual shape of the backrest. In an organic and minimalist Scandinavian spirit, close to the material, these mid-century Danish chairs combine originality and purity of line.

The chairs date from the 1950s and were made in Denmark. They were designed by Steen Eiler Rasmussen and Kai Lyngfeldt Larsen for Danbork. The seats and backrests are made of deep-stained, patinated teak plywood. The frame is tubular metal. Signs of wear and a lovely patina are visible in the photos. There are some small areas where the veneer is missing from the plywood. The chairs are in excellent condition and beautifully crafted. The design is very original. These chairs are not common. They are lightweight and stackable. They are signed under the seat.
