A beautiful example of late 19th-century American Rockinghamware, featuring the iconic tortoiseshell marbled glaze and raised grapevine relief motifs. This warm, richly glazed pitcher captures exactly what collectors love about Rockingham pottery — deep color movement, subtle blue undertones, and hand-finished character. These pieces were made by regional potteries in Vermont, Kentucky, Ohio and Virginia during the Victorian era and remain highly collectible. Lovely for displaying on a farmhouse shelf, adding warmth to a primitive vignette, or styling a harvest or wine-themed table. Measures approximately 9" tall, 8" wide and 6" deep. Displays well with expected glaze variations, firing marks and surface crazing consistent with age. No cracks or repairs observed. A small flea bite is visible on the rim of the pitcher. A perfect piece for a rustic cabin decor and a true piece of Americana.
