For ages, silk fabrics have been accepted as the creme’ de la creme’ of fashion fabric. Whether it was for Elizabethan Gowns, Regency Frocks, Civil War ball gowns, Edwardian wedding dresses, 1930s evening wear, or 1950s party gowns, silk in its various forms has been indispensable. In Europe and the Far East silk has long been esteemed as the finest fabric for royalty, and in America our First Ladies rarely appear on camera without it. Today, one of the most popular and elegant silks is Silk Dupioni.
Dupioni (also referred to as Douppioni or Dupion) is a plain weave crisp type of silk fabric, produced by using fine thread in the warp and uneven thread reeled from two or more entangled cocoons in the weft. This creates tightly-woven yardage with a highly-lustrous surface. This luxurious, textured fabric with the crisp feel and brilliant luster are often seen in formal gowns, party suits and home decorations.

Details:
A beautiful Italian Designer 100% Antique Silk Dupioni from a French printed embroidery style design of the early 18th century with an intricate spring fresh Embroidered flowers running down the fabric. This stunning pillow cover features only the highest quality designer fabrics.
The face is a gorgeous medium-scale floral embroidered in olive green, cream and red maroon on a black dupioni silk background.
A lovely silk twist stripe trim in cream and burgundy red, matching with the fabric, embellished this design with a luxury and special touch. I put my labor at the junction of the cord that the pipping looks like a continuous visual line (no end) on the outside of the seam and instead do NOT see TWO LINES (two ends).
The reverse is a complementary dupioni silk fabric in a black that matches the colors of the face.
Both front and reverse fabrics have overlocked edges to prevent fraying and a zipper closure with an envelope opening near the bottom on the back which allows you to remove your insert from this cover for cleaning.

This pillow cover is made to fit a 16x24 inches insert My designs are always cut slightly smaller than the pillow insert size to ensure a "perfectly-plump" fit and I always suggest using a high-quality pillow inserts like the ones I supply.
Pillow inserts are not included.
By request there are available and made to order, 16"x24" hypoallergenic pillow inserts that are safe for people suffering from allergies. The model will be elegantly sewed with high thread count smooth non- woven cotton fabric and meticulously filled with top quality 100% corn fiber filling.
