Beautiful set of six vintage handmade drapery panels in a classic English floral chintz, sewn with triple pinch pleats and fully lined. The pattern features large-scale cabbage roses and botanical vines on a warm cream ground, reminiscent of heritage prints by Waverly, Laura Ashley, Schumacher, Sanderson (UK), Cowtan & Tout, Colefax & Fowler, Bennison, and Ralph Lauren Home.
These drapes belonged to my Mother and I have been told the fabric and pattern was designed by Mario Buatta.
The fabric is lovely both in quality and weight but I make no claims as to whether that statement is true. I cannot access the region of the panel where the fabric prominence would be cited without taking apart the drapes. Please exercise due-diligence.
These are professional workroom-quality drapes with crisp pleats, clean lining, generous fullness, and the substantial hand of heavyweight cotton chintz. Perfect for interiors inspired by Sister Parish, Albert Hadley, Bunny Williams, Mario Buatta, Mark D. Sikes, Jeffrey Bilhuber, Rita Konig, and the layered charm of New England traditional and English Country House design.
Ideal for Old Money, Grandmillennial, Coastal Prep, Updated Traditional, and cottage interiors—anywhere that benefits from timeless pattern, softness, and classic warmth.
