This is a pretty and feminine vintage French Louis XVI style arm chair featuring a solid wood frame with a medallion shaped cane back, swooping curved arms, and fluted tapered legs ending in toupee feet. The original painted finish of antique white with gold accents has been preserved, but the padded seat has been reupholstered in toile de jouy. The chair is paired with a newer Tahari lumbar pillow wrapped in matching toile fabric. The chair is unsigned but was likely made in the United States in the 1940s.
The mid-20th century chair is in very good vintage condition with a heavy and sturdy frame, intact cane back, and supportive padding on the seat. The original painted finish shows wear on the arms and back. Brand new upholstery. Please see photos for more details about the condition of the chair.
The arm chair measures 38" tall, 24" wide, and 22" deep with a seat height of 19 inches and an arm height of 24.5 inches.
