A hand-crafted Santa in a red felt coat and hood … Read more Charming mid-century German Santa sled, full of rustic, folk-art character. A hand-crafted Santa in a red felt coat and hood sits at the front of a wooden sled with twig side rails and two wrapped “presents” in the back. His face is molded composition/papier-mâché with hand-painted blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and a soft beard, and he carries a small green wreath / greenery at his side. Made in Germany in the mid-20th century, this style of clay-faced Santa on a wood sled is a classic of German Christmas décor and looks wonderful tucked into a mantel display, under a feather tree, or in a vintage holiday vignette. Measures approximately 8.5" long, 2.5" deep, and 4.5" tall. In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age, including some small marks/chips on Santa's face, a loose beard, and rubbed paint (see photos). Santa's feet were also broken at a some point. Still a fantastic addition to any collection and perfect for holiday display. See less
