Hand-painted and signed by w. Dreimüller – motif: poppies
this impressive lidded vase comes from the renowned fa mehlem gmbh manufactory in bonn, one of the most important german ceramic manufacturers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Founded in 1838 and later located on the historic grounds of the former bonn earthenware factory, mehlem enjoyed international acclaim in its time for the refinement of its forms and the quality of its artistic decoration.
hand-painted art nouveau pieces were particularly sought after and are highly prized collector's items today. The vase presented here is a prime example: a large art nouveau vase with elegant curves, a lid, and richly decorated with an impressionist-inspired poppy motif.
the vibrant pinks, reds, and violets blend harmoniously with deep greens – a color palette typical of floral art nouveau. Particularly valuable: this vase is signed by w. Dreimüller, one of the decorative painters at the mehlem manufactory, whose delicate floral paintings adorn numerous high-quality pieces from this period. His signature underscores the masterful craftsmanship and makes this object a unique work of art.
