: 1960’s Tall Glass Mid Century Shelving Unit. Produced by Tatra Pravenec in the Czech Republic. Czech design will always be affiliated to the Bauhaus movement which inspired a generation of design and industrial production in Czechia principally during the second half of the 20th Century with producers such as Ton and Up Zavody amongst many others. Tatra Pravenec’s origins were originally as a timber and bentwood producer and supplier of chairs, but in the boom period of post-war furniture production they developed as a sophisticated independent producer. This is a high quality practical cabinet or shelving unit with great storage. In exceptional original condition the unit has been sensitively restored in our own workshop. Designed by Frantisek Jirak. The top features a cabinet with an adjustable shelf and two sliding glass doors. The centre section has two drawers. The bottom is a cabinet with two sliding wood doors. Principally made in oak with birch and beech detail. Our workshop has gently cleaned, waxed and serviced the unit, the doors run smoothly and the shelving is stable and practical. Top Cabinet Internal dimensions: Shelf depth: 29cm. Overall height: 55cm. Top shelf height: 25cm, Bottom shelf height 20cm. Middle Drawer Section Internal Dimensions: Depth: 23cm. Height 8cm. Bottom Cabinet Internal Dimensions: Depth: 29cm. Overall height: 55cm. Top shelf height: 25cm, Bottom shelf height 20cm. Workshop Report: Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
