Delightful circular silver-plated photo frame by Argenteria Storica A. Fornari in Rome. In 1896, Alberto Fornari started his business in Rome's Campo de' Fiori, earning himself the nickname “massiccio” (solid) for the “d'argent massif” (solid silver) items he sold. Thus began the history of Rome's silversmiths.
In 1905, Alberto decided to open his first shop at Via della Scrofa 49. Business flourished and the shop, now famous, was moved to Via del Gambero 27, on the corner of Via Frattina. In just a few years, the Fornari family managed to produce 30,000 kg of silver items and transformed the shop into a company specializing in gift items and home and kitchen accessories.
