Dating from the 1950s–60s, this figure features a hand-painted paper-mâché face, felt suit, and a beautifully rustic sled crafted from carved wood and natural twigs. A simple wrapped and removable present sits in the sled. These figures were commonly made in the Erzgebirge region of Germany and sold in European holiday markets and export shops. Measures approximately 7” long, 3.25” tall and 2.5” deep. In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age including paint wear, loss of original beard, minor wood wear. Stable and charming. A wonderful addition to a vintage Christmas display, German holiday collection, or Santa figurine grouping. See less
