A beautifully decorated Japanese Meiji period cloisonne enamel plate depicting a pastoral scene of a young boy riding a water buffalo while another figure walks beside him. The two are set within a serene landscape framed by trees, grasses, and a flowing stream, with a sweeping view of Mount Fuji rising in the background. The composition is framed by a vibrant floral border in shades of blue, red, yellow, and white.
The enamel work is detailed and finely executed, capturing a classic genre scene often associated with themes of youth, harmony with nature, and rural daily life in Japan.
Very good condition with strong color throughout and no major damages.
