Etching on paper, realized after Fragonard in 1944. Signed and dated in the plate. Inscribed in red ink: “Les Liseuses de Fragonard, copie de A. Marrot – 44.” A refined etching by André Marrot, interpreting Fragonard’s celebrated composition Les Liseuses. This 1944 work captures with elegance and delicacy the intimate atmosphere of two women engrossed in reading. Executed with fine linework, it demonstrates Marrot’s technical mastery and his sensitivity to 18th-century charm. Good overall condition, with minor age-related traces.
