Lithograph on wove paper. Not signed, as issued. Published by Galerie René Drouin, Paris. Plate no. from the portfolio "Les Phénomènes". A striking monochrome lithograph from Jean Dubuffet’s celebrated Les Phénomènes series, L’antilope exemplifies the artist’s fascination with natural textures, geological formations, and the aesthetics of raw material surfaces. Executed through an innovative process of inked paper and material impressions, this work transcends traditional printmaking to evoke the spontaneous, tactile energy that defined Dubuffet’s art brut ethos. The dense field of tonal variation—ranging from velvety blacks to granulated grays—creates a rhythmic abstraction that suggests both topographical relief and organic motion. with its richly worked surface and primordial visual language, L’antilope captures Dubuffet’s experimental spirit during the early 1960s, when he was developing his Texturologies and exploring the boundaries between image and matter. from the edition of approximately 60 impressions printed by Atelier Mourlot, Paris. Excellent overall; minimal age toning, faint handling marks consistent with age. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
