A refined pair of Kyoto Satsuma miniature moon-flask vases from the late Meiji period, c.1895–1910. The compact flattened forms sit lightly on their low feet, creating a balanced silhouette ideal for shelf or mantel display. Each vase is painted with a continuous riverside procession of court ladies in soft enamels and raised gold; the narrow sides are wrapped in alternating brocade and figure panels, ensuring the pair reads beautifully from every angle.
The warm ivory crackled glaze and controlled gilding identify this as higher-grade Kyoto work made for the export art market. Each base carries a calligraphic Satsuma inscription above the Shimazu crest.

Height: 12.2–12.5 cm (4.8–4.9″)
