A 1737 round, dark wax butter mold with a negative imprint of the coat of arms of the Austrian imperial … Read more A 1737 round, dark wax butter mold with a negative imprint of the coat of arms of the Austrian imperial family, a crowned double-headed eagle with two swords between its claws. Inside, on the chest, is a shield containing minor arms likely related to vassal families. At the ends of the emblem are the initials IG-S above and M-S below, along with the date 1737. The edge is corded with leaf motifs. The mold has a hook at the top and shows signs of wear on the side edges from cords that likely allowed it to be suspended when not in use. In good condition with slight warping and restorations as shown in the photos, of Austro-Hungarian origin. See less
