This sculptural form—characterized by its dense, seed-like protrusions—belongs to Salto’s iconic “budding” style, one of the three organic idioms (sprouting, and budding) that define his most sought-after work. The Solfatara glaze enhances the vessel’s tactile surface with deep olive-green tones, mottled transitions, and highlights of creamy white breaking over the raised elements. The result is an expressive, volcanic effect that emphasizes Salto’s fascination with natural growth forms and dynamic, living surfaces. The model was created in 1944 and is very rarely seen. This example is dated 1944 and signed by Salto underneath and stamped with the Royal Copenhagen logo. Factory first and no damages or repairs. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
