This type of vessel was traditionally used for dry storage in Victorian kitchens, pantries, and apothecary cabinets. The tin lining helped protect spices, seeds, tea, powders, herbs, or other moisture-sensitive goods from reacting with copper.
The bottle features a warm, naturally aged patina and a concave hand-formed base typical of 19th-century copperwork. The threaded cap seals securely and includes a bail-style handle, allowing it to hang in a pantry or be carried easily.
