A "Stirrup Cup" - before a hunt, the riders would gather at the Manor House or meeting location, and indulge in what they called "Stirrup Cup" holding a shot of whiskey or brandy before the hunt got underway. Most stirrup cups are made from silver, it is quite unique to have one made from ceramic.
