Early silver lidded jug with a smooth finish on a round, funnel-shaped base with a profiled rim, slight nodule above … Read more Early silver lidded jug with a smooth finish on a round, funnel-shaped base with a profiled rim, slight nodule above the constriction, egg-shaped raised body with a recessed neck constriction and a generous spout with a pearl rim and hinged lid with a sculptural bundle of autumn leaves as a knob, raised handle made of black-stained wood mounted at a distance. Monogram 'K.J.' on the side of the base. Exceptional work of simple elegance by silversmith Ignatius Haller, who worked in Vienna from 1791 to 1824. Branded by the Wheel mark, Austrian official hallmark for Vienna from 1791-1806: 13 Lot silver, dated 1803 Master's mark 'IH' in oval, manufacure mark for Ignatius Haller, who was active in Vienna 1791-1824.
