The visible mark of the pontile (the tool used to move the glass inside the furnace for processing) under the base indicates that this is an entirely hand-shaped piece. The candy bowl is signed under the base by the artist "Striulli vetri artistici di Murano" and features a manufacturer's tag. The body of the vase is circular, with a vertical elliptical section, embellished with a blue glass paste band at the mouth and two cameos, hot-applied by the artist, in the shape of lion heads in bas-relief with inclusions of aventurine gold leaf. The base of the candy bowl is entirely hand-engraved, creating a circular crown that is visible even when viewed from above, lending it a particularly elegant look. Object made by Alberto Striulli, an important Italian artist working in Murano, dating back to the second half of the 20th century.
