What you are viewing is a 19th century part of a small, portable anvil heavy-duty tool head. I fell in love with this piece way back and had it in my upstate New York Country House. It was on a wall near my Chamber Stove loaded with wood matches. It is a great form to hold your matches and is a wonderful conversation piece.
