Antique silver inlaid brass betel nut box, c.1900
A fine quality and condition box having silver inlay on all sides and inner lids. These were used in the Philippines and many parts of south ease Asia to store betel leaves, lime, seasonings or tobacco. This one has three lidded inner compartments. Traditionally, they also had carrying handles on the sides. Good overall condition with dings and dents from age and use.
