Gorgeous antique sauce boat or tureen by Wedgwood, England. Part of the Belmar Basket collection. This three-piece set was pieced together over two generations. The actual sauce boat base is from the late 1800s and has a darker patina as you can see in the pics. The underplate and the lid were sourced later and date to 1917.
All three pieces are free from chips or cracks. No crazing. Examine photos closely for the color variations.
The body of the pieces are cream colored with green banding and a floral border. The tureen has ram heads on either side for the handles. There is a laurel leaf band around the edges. The lid finial looks like asparagus perhaps. Incredible craftsmanship and detail all around.
The sauce boat measures just over 6" wide and 7" tall. The underplate measures 7.5"
