An elegant louis xvi style commode dating from the late 19th century, crafted in marquetry. It is topped with a superb white carrara marble slab, finely veined with gray, the rim of which is worked in an inverted cavetto pattern, highlighting the nobility of the material.
this piece features four drawers in the front, each adorned with a wood veneer arranged in a herringbone pattern, framed by bands of wood that accentuate the richness of the decoration. Each drawer is fitted with an ornate key, a finely chased bronze escutcheon, and a functional lock. The drawers are flanked by beaded ring pulls, typical of louis xvi refinement. The canted corners of the uprights are decorated with matching marquetry and enhanced with openwork bronze mounts, adding a further touch of delicacy. At the bottom, the plinth, also with chamfered edges, is highlighted with brass moldings, while the tapered legs end in brass sabots, ensuring both elegance and stability.
this chest of drawers gracefully embodies the timeless elegance of the louis xvi style, where the refinement of the materials harmoniously blends with the excellence of the cabinetmaking craftsmanship.
