This piece showcases classic northern Chinese artistry with its folk-style mountains, temple dwellings, robed figures, boats, and lotus motifs, all framed by a floral border that continues down to the lower apron.

The cabinet is crafted in traditional plank construction with hand-planed surfaces, mortise-and-tenon joinery, and its original round “moon face” metal hardware. The lacquer has developed a wonderfully tactile patina over time—areas of worn pigment, exposed red underlayers, and natural crackling that speak to decades of use and authentic age. The result is a richly layered, soulful surface that decorators and collectors prize.

Inside are two generous storage compartments with a center divider and shelf—ideal for use as an entry chest, media cabinet, bar cabinet, or accent piece in a collected interior.
