This elegant mahogany sewing table dates from the period between the Biedermeier and early Gründerzeit (late 19th century) (circa 1840–1870). The table top displays a beautiful, typical mahogany grain pattern in a warm reddish-brown. The turned central pedestal and the curved tripod leg lend the piece lightness and elegance – characteristic of fine 19th-century ladies' furniture. The table features two drawers and a completely original interior with several small compartments and a removable central tray with decorative lines.
