A striking example of early American utilitarian craftsmanship, this large hand turned ash bowl dates to the 19th century and retains its beautifully worn original blue paint. Skillfully shaped from a single block of ash, the bowl shows the subtle irregularities and tool marks characteristic of period turning, along with a time softened surface that only generations of use can produce.
Provenance: From the Lifetime Collection of the late Deb Fisher (Lebanon, Ohio)
