Also known as the B3 chair, the Wassily was designed in 1925 and is regarded as a landmark of Bauhaus design. Inspired by bicycle handlebars and built from bent tubular steel with leather seat, back and armrests, it embodies both function and modern elegance. This example was purchased in the late 1970s at Möbelhof Lohmann in Hamm, Germany — one of the few retailers offering Knoll and Cassina furniture at the time. The leather bears the engraved name Marcel Breuer, a detail used by both Gavina (prior to Knoll’s 1968 acquisition) and Knoll during that era. In good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age. This piece has an attribution mark,
