It is marked with a Thonet label of the 2nd type (1881-1919). Under the layers of non-original paint, the original surface finish of the base has been very well preserved, which was cleaned and polished with shellac after the non-original paint had been removed. The top also has the original surface finish with a nice patina. It was cleaned and retouched with semi-hard colored wax. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
