Producing rugs since the 17th century with peak production in the 18th and 19th centuries, the hallmark of Khotan rugs are geometric designs with abstract drawings in a wide color palette from soft pastels to rich colors. Most of the larger ones have the classic pomegranate motif and rarely do you find them with any other pattern like this glorifying example.
