This rare footed bowl comes from the legendary Haël workshops for artistic ceramics in Marwitz near Berlin, founded and run by Bauhaus student Margarete Heymann-Loebenstein. One of the few women to run her own workshop during the Bauhaus era, Heymann-Loebenstein combined clear design language with masterful craftsmanship in her work. The Haël workshops are considered an icon of German design history and an early example of the fusion of art and industrial production.
