the top displays attractive medullary rays characteristic of fine english oak, finished in a deep, hand-rubbed polish that enhances its rich grain and natural depth of colour. The turned legs and square-blocked stretchers show the well-balanced craftsmanship typical of edwardian cabinetmakers working in the early arts & crafts and jacobean revival periods.

this table represents the enduring appeal of early handmade oak furniture — honest construction, graceful turnings, and a patina developed over more than a century. Its folding design makes it both practical and sculptural, fitting seamlessly within period or contemporary interiors.

the table stands firmly and is structurally sound, retaining its original joints, screws, and stretchers. The surface shows the rich depth of an old finish built up over time, with layers of original shellac and polish now merged into a single, mellow patina. The top has a join seam where the central planks meet, one outer top section shows irregular seam at the joint from natural shrinkage, as shown in the photos; secure toward the centre and stable & straight overall. The edge also shows a slight irregularity from hand-finishing, adding to its authentic handmade character.
