A refined pair of Albissola majolica jugs (or tankards), finely hand-painted. The pieces are signed "Albissola" on the base and are a classic example of vintage craftsmanship dating back to the 1960s.
Subject and Style: Design in the "Bianco e Blu" (blue monochrome) style, typical of the Ligurian tradition. The jugs are "en pendant" (matched) but with different decorations, executed with a quick brushstroke: they depict landscapes, houses, and stylized floral/vegetal motifs. Material and Finish: Made of high-quality majolica (glazed ceramic), entirely hand-painted using the "bianco e blu" (cobalt monochrome on white glaze) technique. The finish is glossy and brilliant. Base: Both jugs rest on a flat base and bear the handwritten signature "Albissola" on the bottom. Ideal for collectors of Albissola ceramics, as a decorative pair for a kitchen or tavern, for serving water/wine, or for lovers of "blue and white" majolica.
