The Iconic Wassily chair was first designed in 1925 by Marcel Breuer, He was a master carpenter at the Bauhaus … Read more The Iconic Wassily chair was first designed in 1925 by Marcel Breuer, He was a master carpenter at the Bauhaus in the 1920's where he was inspired by a newly purchased bicycle to design this lightweight iconic chair, which was later named Wassily after the Italian firm Gavina acquired the patent in 1962 from Thonet. So called, as it was used by the painter Wassily Kandinsky.
This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
