A refined pair of decorative vases in Albissola Majolica, finely hand-painted. Both pieces are signed "Bertolotto" on the base for the "Emmebi" factory. A superb vintage pair dating back to the 1960s.
Subject and Style: Polychrome "Istoriato" design. The vases are "en pendant" (matched) but not identical in shape (one is more slender, the other more globular) and decoration. Both feature a winged cherub (angel) on one side and a landscape with a village on the other. Material and Finish: Made of high-quality majolica (glazed ceramic), entirely hand-painted with a vibrant palette of polychrome colors (blue, ochre, brown, green). The finish is glossy and shiny. Base: Both vases rest on a solid circular base, outlined with colored lines. They bear the handwritten signature of the manufacturer and the artist on the bottom. Ideal for collectors of Albissola ceramics, lovers of historiato majolica, or for decorating a dresser or shelf with a matching pair.
