It depicts the Virgin in prayer on a cherub pedestal, wearing a richly gilded mantle with original polychrome decoration. The serene and delicate expression of her face reflects the Baroque Marian ideal. The piece is accompanied by a splendid repoussé and chased silver crown of Peruvian origin (18th-19th century), adorned with starbursts and floral elements. This crown, of great technical and devotional quality, was acquired in 2015. The ensemble is of high artistic and devotional value, in very good condition, with patina and slight wear consistent with age. See less
