Impressive elongated ceramic tray with a deep, glossy turquoise glaze.
Dimensions: height 6.5 cm, width 66 cm, depth 21 cm.
The hand-formed rectangular shape features softly undulating, organic edges. Its surface reveals a subtle texture and beautiful variation in shades of blue-green and black, characteristic of the work of Kikuyama — a Japanese potter associated with the Ken’yō kiln, renowned for ikebana and bonsai ceramics from the mid-20th century.
Originally created as a bonsai or ikebana vessel, it now serves perfectly as a striking centerpiece — a unique fruit tray, nut dish, or vide-poche. The piece is in excellent condition, bearing an impressed Kikuyama seal on the underside.
An expressive and functional object that blends traditional Japanese craftsmanship effortlessly with a contemporary interior.
