Dimensions: height … Read more Beautiful, organically shaped ikebana vase carved from rootwood, with that typical twisted, almost spiral movement in the wood.

Dimensions: height 29 cm, width 27 cm, depth 18 cm.

The rim is left rough and natural, making it look as if the piece came straight from nature. Inside is the original red-copper reservoir for water and stems; it is no longer fully watertight, but can still be used perfectly with a small glass, kenzan or with dry/seasonal branches.

The wood has a warm, deep brown patina with attractive grain and natural openings – exactly what you want in a wabi-sabi piece.

Very decorative on its own as a small sculpture, but also lovely as a low flower arrangement vase with a single branch, grasses or autumn foliage.

In good decorative condition with age-related traces consistent with its age. See less
