This magnificent center desk embodies the elegance and refinement of the Regency style. It captivates with the richness of its woods and the finesse of its craftsmanship. The top is covered in its original green leather, framed by a blind-stamped vignette that attests to its authenticity. Around this top, a wide molding, crafted in a crow's beak shape, accentuates its contours.
The desk opens with three drawers in the frieze, the central drawer distinguished by a veneer forming superb geometric figures. This front is framed by ornate moldings and adorned with a superb chased bronze escutcheon, complete with its key and working lock. The two side drawers are embellished with decorative drop handles, each flanked by large bronze flowers applied to the front, reinforcing the opulent character of the whole. The sides of the desk, equally elaborate, feature a dynamic design with moldings framing a sculpted face in the center, surrounded by symmetrical scrolls and arabesques reminiscent of Neoclassical influences.
At the back, the desk echoes the aesthetic codes of the front, with perfectly integrated false drawers, ensuring a sumptuous view from any angle.
The cabriole legs, typical of the Regency style, are richly decorated. Each is adorned with a espagnolette-shaped finial depicting a woman in relief, her head adorned with flowers and jewels. This sculpture extends along the edge with an ornate molding, terminating in an openwork trim. Finally, dark wood marquetry highlights the curves of the legs, adding a further touch of sophistication.
This exceptional desk, a perfect blend of artisanal virtuosity and timeless elegance, embodies the prestige of fine furniture and will enhance the most beautiful interiors with its noble and refined charm.
