Charming low vase in soft grey-blue glaze, typical of postwar Shigaraki studio work.
Dimensions: height 15 cm, diameter 19 cm.
Low, rounded Japanese vase with a matte grey-blue base glaze. Fine, elegant stems have been incised into the clay, running around the form. At the top, small flowers in white and red glaze have been applied, giving the piece a light, seasonal feel. The opening is narrow, so it works well for a few branches or a single flower, but it also stands beautifully on its own.
In perfect condition, with the original wooden storage box (tomobako).
A lovely accent to build a small Japanese vignette or to soften a setting with wood and ceramics.
