Often referred to as the "Grasshopper" due to its angular, zoomorphic silhouette, this lamp balances architectural rigor with a lighthearted visual character. The structure is defined by a slender, black-lacquered steel rod frame that splits into a tripod base, giving the lamp stability with a minimal visual footprint. The focal point is the conical aluminum shade, finished in a soft, pastel yellow lacquer. This shade is mounted on an adjustable brass swivel joint, allowing the user to toggle between direct reading light and indirect ambient illumination. The distinctive push-button switch is integrated directly into the shade housing, a signature detail of Van Doorn's engineering.
