Seabed with yellow fish (30x90 cm) - acrylic and posca colors on canvas - 2016. Unframed: the edges of the canvas are painted. Signed on the side of the canvas and on the back. Born and raised on an island where the sea surrounds my city, i can't help but immerse myself in it to see another life, that same life changing and transforming before my eyes, where the fish become tropical, their colors become stronger, and their food is increasingly industrial. This is where the work "seabed with yellow fish" was born, and with it many other similar themes. The artist: i sought a way to represent, with the intensity of acrylic color on one side and an unsaturated blending with water on the other, the connection of the subject with the whole—between matter and spirit, between what is visible and what is invisible. A kind of connection created through drops of color and water. Over time, this division between matter and spirit has become more pronounced, but gradually the colors have grown increasingly diluted and blended, so that spirit merges with matter: matter now degraded, fluorescent, unnatural, disharmonious. The drops of matter and the strongly saturated colors can only represent a denunciation of the environmental degradation of our century, where oceans are acidifying, forests are being stripped bare, and animals are becoming extinct. Alessandro filetti, born and raised in catania in 1982, has a passion for drawing, following an instinct that has led him over time to deepen his understanding and choice of techniques that he still uses in his pictorial research today. He has always loved acrylic paints for their brilliance and watercolors for their spontaneity. While studying comics in rome, he made extensive use of ecoline and computer graphics, which allowed him to appreciate strong, intense colors. At the academy of fine arts, he took a course in graphic design and engraving to further his comics style. He worked briefly for a video game agency in catania, also exploring digital painting, which he now uses to create graphic illustrations. After creating his first canvases, he rarely exhibited his work publicly due to a lack of confidence in himself and his painting. However, thanks to his connections with several gallery owners (salvo torrisi's galleria d'arte, vitale di vitale, and gallerie calcagno di davide calcagno), who, with their objective perspective on the art scene, offered him a path forward. He continues to study this path today, with great passion and pride, because he has finally begun to express himself. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
