The work is titled “Teatro dell’Opera Roma Caracalla”, and continues his exploration of the relationship between the cosmic and the theatrical, the infinite and the staged. The image creates a striking vertical split: at the bottom, the ruins house a performance attended by an earthly audience; above, a constellation of planets including, and (Terra) float in a deep, star-filled sky. This juxtaposition evokes the sense of human art as a small but luminous gesture under the vastness of the universe. Paolini uses circular cutouts — one showing musical notation, others showing celestial bodies — as symbolic portals. They connect earthly performance to cosmic order, suggesting that art and music are part of a larger, universal harmony.
