fine vase designed by Sven Wejsfelt at the Gustavsberg Ceramic Studio in 1980. The vase has a "hare´s fur glaze" which is a high iron content pigment that is fired at a high temperature and creates a very similar look as the hare´s fur. It origins from ancient Chinese Song dynasty, when many temmoku bowls were painted with the glaze. Sven Wejsfelt were the master of turning clay, he started working, turning all items for the famous designers Gunnard Nylund between1947-1953 at Rörstrand. 1953 he moved and started working, turning pieces for another great Swedish Designer Stig Lindberg at Gustavsberg, he stayed with Lindberg for 17 years, until 1970. 1977. He started his own studio at Gustavebrg and he created very fine thin ceramic vases with an exquisite hare´s fur glaze in extremely high quality and he also made very sought after ceramic fishes in different sizes and kind.
The condition of the vase is very good, no chips, cracks or remarks, it measures 25 cm in height and 8.6 cm in diameter to the base. This piece has an attribution mark,
