Two profile portraits is a beautiful etching realized by Ferdinand the elder Piloty after Martin Schongauer, in the early 19th Century. In very good condition. Signed in the plate in the lower right margin of the plate. Ferdinand Piloty (1786-1844) was a German engraver. He was the father of genre artist Karl von Piloty. from 1808 to 1815, with Johann Nepomuk Strixner, he produced a series of 423 lithographs, titled Les oeuvres lithographiques par Strixner, Piloty et Comp\.from 1836, with Joseph Löhle he produced a series of copies from the Alte Pinakothek and the Schleissheim Gallery. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
