A pirouette (old french 'pirouet' = spinning top) is a movement performed by a horse in equestrianism and a dressage exercise. In particular, the turn around the hindquarters at a gallop belongs to the advanced and high school, as, when performed correctly, it requires a degree of collection that can only be expected after several years of training and only from horses with above-average abilities. Pirouettes are ridden as walk, canter and piaffe pirouettes on two hoofbeats. The forehand moves in a circle around the hindquarters, which also describe a very small circle around a centre point as close as possible to the inner hind leg. The rider is dressed in the traditional costume of the spanish riding school, consisting of a black two-pointed hat, brown tailcoat with gold buttons, and white buckskin trousers. It is accompanied by black leather gauntlet boots, matching spurs and white suede gloves.on oval, slightly curved earth base, with the inscriptions 'pirouette-spanish riding school' and 'hofburg vienna' on the long sides the model was created by prof.
