It was hand crafted from walnut … Read more This is a beautiful antique occasional table, from Sorrento in Italy, c.1880 in date. It was hand crafted from walnut and olive wood. The oblong top with canted corners is superbly inlaid with a figural scene of a rider in a horse drawn chariot, with marquetry and parquetry borders. The base and stem have been masterfully inlaid in geometric patterns and the turned column is raised on four scroll feet It is a beautiful piece which shows off the skills of the gifted craftsmen from Sorrento.
