Four antique oval gilded frames with feral feet and a shell-shaped cymatium, and two central decorations consisting of the interweaving … Read more Four antique oval gilded frames with feral feet and a shell-shaped cymatium, and two central decorations consisting of the interweaving of the outer frame's outline, forming an original geometric motif. A beautiful water gilding in pure gold leaf reveals the Armenian red bole underpainting in several places, lending the frames a warm effect. They are in good condition, except for a distinct gluing on a feral foot on one of them. Inside, protected by glass, are some posthumous prints. Due to their nature, the four frames are suitable for use as tabletop picture frames with minor modifications. They date to the first half of the 19th century and originate from Northern Italy.
