Boss of Amsterdam, a well-known Dutch manufacturer of scientific and precision instruments around the beginning of the 20th century.

This double-arm balance features the original glass and brass windproof case, brass weighing pans and a wooden base with the manufacturer's nameplate. The closed brass case was designed to prevent air currents, allowing for extremely accurate measurements.

The lever on the right can be used to lock the balance in place for transport or when not in use.
