the original catalog lists it as "type ss" (for sur sol, meaning "on the floor"), and also included its inverted equivalent as a ceiling light (type p) as well as a wall-mounted version (type m).
manufactured by a.m.l licht & design (a.m.l balanstrasse 9, munich), this very high-quality lamp is featured in this exact configuration of finish and wiring in andrea luperger's brochure "la lampe equilibrée" (the balanced lamp), self-published around 1980. Standard bayonet socket, bulb included.
